Monday, August 1st

After being sequestered in the cottage nursing a bug for the past five days, Craig thought that some fresh air would speed my road to recovery.  We decided to go to Homps for lunch but showering sapped the little energy I still had……so we supped on simple sandwiches in the cottage then went for a ride in the country in search of lavender fields.

Although Provence is truly lavender country, we had heard that there were a few lavender fields near Thézan des Corbières…..so we headed south, though vineyards and wineries, past castle ruins and abbeys, through the sleepy little town of Thézan and past even more vineyards….finally abandoning our quest and returning to the cottage.

Lavender fields…..zero                                                                                                                 Quaint little villages…..four                                                                                                   Driving through the French countryside…..priceless
