We’re not happy about having to return home to extend our visa, but at least it resolves the uncertainty.  While I make plans for our trip home, Craig continues to chase water in the boat.  Everytime he thinks the boat is leak-free, it surprises him once again.  He’s put so many inspection ports in the subfloor that it’s starting to look like Swiss cheese.

Felix, too, is dealing with issues.  Mr Mouse has left the confines of the bedroom ceiling but he remains in the cottage…..with Felix tracking his progress.  First, in the walls of the loft and now in the rafters below the roof.

With food and water in short supply in the deep, dark recesses of this old dwelling, Mr Mouse is following Ratty’s exit strategy, so I’m sure he’ll be gone soon…..but we’re pretty sure Felix thinks he’s played a major role in Mr Mouse’s departure.  We don’t want to discourage the li’l guy, so we make a point of praising his efforts….assuring him that he’s a big game hunter…. just like his long-ago ancestors.

Did I miss something . I thought the last post you were hopeful that you wouldn’t have to return because you got an appointment for next week?????

    • @ Sandy….sadly, no. The prefecture can’t or won’t extend our visas, so we’re doing everything we can to assure that the consulate in SF will approve new ones…..and the first step is getting the OFII stamp (that we were supposed to get back in October).
