Therapy was early today so we had most of the day to do whatever we wanted….
We should go home and work on chores….
We did go to Capestang for coffee and market day….
We’ve been to this market many times over the past few years but today was the first time we saw something strange at one of the produce stands….a fox carrying grapes. I’m not sure what the significance is and I know PETA wouldn’t be happy, but I guess the farmer was proud of his conquest.
After touring the market, I suggested driving out to La Provenquière, a nearby winery, but the “ant” in Craig (again referring to our friend, Aesop) got the best of him because he decided he should find the parts for some minor boat repairs he wants to make….so off we went to Brico Depot in Colombiers. Although they didn’t have what he was looking for (rollers for the front door), and despite the language barrier, they were very helpful and suggested some “magasins” (stores) in nearby Beziers that might have what he needs.
After a delicious and inexpensive lunch in Colombiers….Galette avec jambon, fromage rape et supplément œuf (a crepe with ham, shredded cheese and an egg), off we went to Beziers….only a few miles away….if you know where you’re going ….which we didn’t.
After a few roundabouts too many, we finally found our way to Bricoman, Conforama and Castorama….none of which had what Craig wanted….guess Joie’s door will keep hiccuping as it slides open.
Returning home at 5:30….Felix was anxiously waiting for aperitif time. Far be it from us to disappoint him, so we joined him outdoors and watched as he strutted around his new-found territory….getting braver and venturing further each day but always finding his way home.
There’s no place like home……Il n’y a pas de place comme à la maison
