Tuesday, August 31st

Another slow day at the cottage….reviewed finances (aaaiiiieeee!), went to therapy with Angelique (she’d like to have me walking with one cannes, but agreed I’m not ready), then aperitifs and dinner….so, more musings today……

Long Term Care Insurance…..We finally got a LTC policy last year.  It includes home care….not of much help here in France but, if my accident had happened at home, it sure would’ve come in handy and taken some pressure off Craig.  If you’re over 50….ok, maybe 55….definitely before 60….it’s time to start shopping for a policy.

Handicapped-accessibility….One of the problems here in the cottage is the lack of secure places for me to pull up or lower down….especially on the stairs and in the shower.  I’d have the same problem at home.  Fortunately, when we remodeled our bathrooms a few years ago, a wise friend suggested adding more studs in the framing to support bars or rails should we ever need them.  I don’t know if I’d add a bar for this short-term disability, but it’s good to know that I could if I wanted to.

Stairs….I don’t like them.  No two-story homes in our future.

Prendre soin….take care.
